Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Ebru: Water & Paper Marbling ("Ebru", "the app") is an iPhone and iPad app published by the developer behind tryebru.com ("we", "us"). This policy covers the app and this website.

2. Your artwork stays on your device

Everything you make in Ebru — canvases, layers, saved works, custom palettes, custom brushes and tool presets — is stored locally on your device and in your own iCloud or Files storage if you put it there. We never upload, collect or look at your artwork, and we have no server that could receive it.

3. No account, no tracking, no ads

Ebru has no sign-up and no login. We do not use advertising SDKs, we do not profile you, we do not track you across apps or websites, and we do not sell or share personal information.

4. One-time first-launch diagnostic

The first time Ebru runs on a device, the app sends a single diagnostic message so we know which devices and languages to support. It contains the device model and device name as set in iOS Settings, the iOS version, screen size and scale, processor count and memory, your locale, language and time zone, and the app version and build. It is sent once per installation, contains nothing you have drawn, and is never used for advertising.

If your device name includes your own name, that name is part of this message. You can change it in Settings > General > About > Name before first launch.

5. Camera and photo library

Ebru asks for camera or photo access only when you choose to insert a photo or extract a colour palette from one. The image is processed on your device and is never uploaded. Decline the permission and the rest of the app works exactly as before.

6. Purchases

Ebru is a one-time purchase on the App Store. Apple processes the payment and applies its own privacy policy; we never see your payment details. There are no subscriptions and no in-app purchases.

7. This website

tryebru.com is a static site hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Our host records standard server request logs, including IP address and user agent, for security and reliability. We do not set advertising cookies on this site.

8. Support email

If you write to us, we keep your message and address only for as long as it takes to answer you and to keep a record of the issue.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port personal data we hold, or to object to certain processing. Because Ebru has no account system, the only personal data we may hold is the first-launch diagnostic and any email you have sent us. Write to feedback@tryebru.com and we will act on your request.

10. Children

Ebru is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, children included. We do not knowingly process data from children under 13 beyond the device diagnostic described above.

11. Changes to this policy

We will post any update on this page and change the "Last updated" date above. Material changes to what the app sends will also be described in the App Store release notes.
